helping people feel safe enough to be themselves.
for people who are tired of pretending they’re fine when they’re not.
I’m Sierra McNary, LPC-Associate Supervised by Johanna Montenegro, LPC-S. I care deeply about creating a space where people can feel safe enough to be real.
I didn’t step into this work because I had everything figured out. I stepped into it because I’ve seen how much people carry silently. The pressure to be okay, to not be “too much,” to hold everything together for everyone else. And over time, I’ve learned that what people often need most isn’t more advice or fixing—it’s to be seen, understood, and not alone in it.
That’s the kind of space I strive to offer.
I tend to notice the things that go unsaid—the subtle shifts, the emotions underneath the words, the moments where someone feels unsure or disconnected from themselves. And I move gently in those spaces, helping you make sense of what’s going on without rushing you or forcing change before you’re ready.
My style is warm, honest, and relational. I’ll meet you where you are, sit with you in the hard things, and walk with you as you begin to find your footing again.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m someone who finds joy in simple, meaningful things—the kind of moments that remind you to slow down and breathe a little deeper. I enjoy sunsets, hummingbirds, and reading a good book.
At the end of the day, I don’t believe you need to become someone new. I believe there’s already something good and whole within you—and sometimes, it just takes the right space and support to reconnect with it.
And most of the time, you don’t need more clarity—you just need the courage to take the next step.
Some of my favorite quotes
“You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.”
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do.”
“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.”
